A missing man lost in a state forest for days without contact has been rescued by a helicopter.
Around 6.30am Thursday morning, May 12, BMA CQ was called to locate a man who had been missing in the Cathu State Forest since Monday with concern for his welfare.
A BMA CQ spokeswoman said they conducted areal sweeps of the area and quickly found him.
Rescue Crew Officer Arno Schoonwinkel said the man was easy to see from the sky with his vehicle standing out clearly through the trees. “We spotted him pretty quickly; he was very happy to see us up above. It must have been a cold few nights out there,” he said.
The man was then located on the ground, and a Queensland Police spokeswoman said he was not reported injured.
