Man in his 60s flown to Mackay Hospital after a burn incident at Midge Point
A helicopter was called to transport a man in his 60s significantly burnt at Midge Point, with an accelerant playing a role in the fire.

A man who suffered significant burns, including to his face, was airlifted via helicopter, following an incident in a North Queensland coastal town.
Emergency services were called to Midge Point at around 1.30pm to reports of a man burnt.
The man in his 60s suffered facial burns, which a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said appeared to be caused by a fire involving an accelerant.
CQ Rescue’s medical team was able to stabilise the man before flying him to Mackay to receive further treatment around 3pm.
