It’s set to be a huge weekend of events across Warwick and the wider Southern Downs with stacks of massive attractions lined up.

From the 2021 Warwick Rodeo and Gold Cup Campdraft to Granite Belt arts extravaganzas and Halloween celebrations, there’s something for everyone in the region.

WARWICK RODEO AND GOLD CUP CAMPDRAFT

“Australia’s Most Famous rodeo” is back in the Rose City this weekend, bringing some of the country’s best rodeo and campdraft competitors to town for a huge sports blockbuster.

Hundreds have already hit the Warwick Showgrounds to catch all the action from stacks of events, with everything from bull and bronc rides to campdraft and even junior competitors.

There’s dozens of trade vendors such as Ariat and Ringers Western along with scores of the region’s most popular food vendors including Shannon’s Hot Chips.

The fast-paced action gets under way early in the day and kicks on well into the evening, with live entertainment from huge country music stars such as Adam Brand performing on Friday and Saturday nights.

WHEN: Friday to Sunday from 7am

WHERE: Warwick Showgrounds at 18 Kingsford Street, Warwick

COST: $40 a day for adults, $20 for students, $15 for children aged 7-12, and kids 6 and under are free. Click here to book

WARWICK RODEO STREET PARADE

One of the most iconic events to accompany the Warwick Rodeo and Campdraft each year, the John Dee-sponsored Street Parade will again light up the town’s main street this weekend.

Dozens of vibrant floats and acts will be on display along Palmerin Street in line with this year’s theme ‘past, present, and future’.

Be sure to get to town a bit earlier to ensure you can nab a prime viewing spot!

WHEN: Saturday from 9am

WARWICK RODEO MARKETS

Another institution of the Warwick Rodeo and Gold Cup Campdraft is making its comeback this weekend in the Warwick Potters Rodeo Markets.

Leslie Park will host a huge variety of local artists and stallholders with an array of handcrafted items on show, as well as a range of food vendors for any snacks and refreshments.

Darling Downs Health will also be hosting a Pfizer vaccine clinic on the day, so anyone eligible and willing can roll up their sleeves should take their Medicare card, ID, and a pen.

WHEN: Saturday, 8.30am – 1pm

WHERE: Leslie Park, Warwick

GRANITE BELT ART TRAIL

If you’re looking for something more creative to fill your weekend, the Granite Belt Art and Craft Trail could be just the ticket.

The event is dedicated to celebrating the area’s homegrown talents and invites visitors into studios to check out each artist’s works first-hand and participate in demonstrations or workshops.

This year’s line-up includes exhibits at the Stanthorpe Art Gallery, oil painter Laurie Astill, Borderline Regional Arts, and more.

It comes in the lead-up to the Condamine Art and Craft Trail across the northern end of the region next week.
