THE state's peak motoring body has revealed Warwick motorists have continued to benefit from the cheapest unleaded petrol (ULP) prices in Queensland.
RACQ's monthly fuel price report has shown for a second month in a row the Rose City's monthly
average was lower than anywhere else in the state.
RACQ spokesperson
Renee Smith said the average price for ULP in Warwick during July was 149.4 cents per litre (cpl), 3.9cpl less than Brisbane.
"After having the cheapest ULP in Qld in June, the trend has continued with Warwick motorists filling up at the lowest prices," Ms Smith said.
"This is in fact the fifth time this year the town has had the cheapest monthly average in Queensland.
"With many of Warwick's service stations located nearby each other on main roads, there is strong competition among retailers which drives down prices.
"Those in nearby Toowoomba were also benefiting from some of the best priced fuel on offer.
"Toowoomba's average of 152.4cpl was the third cheapest in the state, behind the Sunshine Coast on 151.1cpl."
Despite Warwick's encouraging July prices, Ms Smith has urged motorists to shop around.
"Motorists seeking the best fuel prices on offer should check the RACQ website, with our Fair Fuel Price service showing how much you should be paying at the bowser," she said.
"It gives the power back to consumers by helping take the guesswork out of fuel pricing, and over time can make a real difference to your budget."
RACQ's Fair Fuel Price service and Monthly Fuel Price Report can be found online here.
The next monthly fuel price report will be released in early September.
