A passing motorist alerted authorities after coming across a horrific crash that left a woman and child dead and two boys injured south of Goondiwindi.

A single-vehicle crash south of the Queensland border has claimed the lives of a woman and four-year-old girl, and left two young children in hospital.
Emergency services received the call around 11am local time on Tuesday that a car had crashed and rolled off the Bruxner Highway into a paddock at Boggabilla, south of Goondiwindi.
The car’s driver, a woman aged 26, as well as a four-year-old girl died at the scene, and two boys aged nine and one, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It’s understood the two victims were mother and daughter.
The highway was closed for 14 hours following the crash.
“We send our condolences to the family and friends,” Boggabilla Rural Fire Brigade shared on Facebook following the accident.
Officers from New England Police District established a crime scene which has been examined by specialist police.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner on the tragedy.
