RUGBY LEAGUE: Scoring 30 tries for the season is the early hope of Warwick Cowboys winger Braydon Wilson in 2016.

Last season, Wilson scored five tries in the win against Oakey and plenty of doubles to be the leading Cowboys try scorer.

He gives centre Joe Fuimaono the credit for setting up many of his 2015 tries but won't discount the value of forwards like Ty Gardner who can make a break and set up outside backs.

"Ty and his fellow forwards do the hard yards and he offloads to players like me," Wilson said.

While there is more to footy than sheer pace, Wilson was clocked at a brisk 11.5sec over 100m while at Pittsworth State High School.

After finishing fifth last season, Wilson is confident the Cowboys can do better in 2016.

"Wattles will be the team to beat but the word on the street is to watch out for Souths," he said.

Gardner started last season in reserve-grade before breaking into A-grade for the second half of the season.

He played enough reserve-grade to qualify for two finals matches and also played in the finals loss to Dalby in A-grade.

"Training has been tough but we are working pretty well on our fitness," Gardner said.

Jordyn Hogden was a fullback when he played in the Eastern Suburbs under-16 premiership win in 2014 but moved to lock with the Cowboys U18 side last season.

"I really like lock. I want to be close to the action," he said.

"We are looking at having a better season in the under-18s and have a bit more size in the squad this season."

While his focus is on the U18s, Hogden is hoping to have a taste of A-grade sometime this season after playing some reserve-grade last season.

A-grade coach Craig Mullaly said the club had been getting 30 players at training early this season.

"We want more at training each Tuesday and Thursday," he said.

The first games of the season will be the annual fixture against Aspley at Aspley on February 12.

Tomorrow night, the Cowboys will hold their Meet The Coaches Night at the clubhouse at Father Ranger Oval from 6pm.

Players will also be able to meet officials and sponsors and can receive help to register online.

Prospective players welcome at training at 6pm each Tuesday or Thursday or can call president David O'Leary on 0409 754989.
