A Warwick hockey side has returned from the state tournament with a great result, finishing third in their division.
The Warwick U15 side led by coach Ross Newton, finished in third place with four wins at the Mackay hockey state championships.
Warwick hockey manager Chontelle Bruton said that the boys had trained well and produced some excellent performances, coming away with four wins, two draws and two losses.
Coach Ross Newton said that he’s extremely proud of the boys and their achievement, and said the squad is in good form to continue achieving into next year.
“They’re most definitely improving, and over the last 12 months, I can see how the boys have improved their skills and team skills by playing together,” Newton said.
“There’s a lot of kids in that team that have so much talent in that team, the team isn’t losing anything by losing some of the older kids to u18s, because there’s a great amount of talent from the younger kids coming through.”
