Woman injured in ute crash into tree on Cunningham Highway, Goondiwindi

A rescue chopper has been sent to a Qld border town where a woman is badly hurt after a crash.

A woman has been seriously hurt in a crash on the Cunningham Highway at Goondiwindi.

Emergency crews were called to the scene where a ute had crashed into a tree near the Queensland border about 5.53am.

The woman was taken to Goondiwindi hospital to meet the rescue helicopter before being flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the victim suffered a ‘significant head injury,’ which was potentially life-threatening.
