Police across the region have been kept on their toes responding to a variety of incidents in the Rose City over the past few days, ranging from high range drink driving, to car crashes and a disturbance outside a popular Warwick venue.

Here’s what you’ve missed in the past seven days.

Drink driving

On Saturday, at about 11.30am, during an RBT, police intercepted a Holden utility on Percy St. The driver, a 25-year-old Flagstone man, allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.079. He was issued with a notice to appear and will front Warwick Magistrates Court in November.

— On Saturday afternoon, a 42-year-old Thulimbah man was stopped by police on Old Stanthorpe Rd at Morgan Park and was subject to an RBT where he allegedly returned a reading of 0.189 BAC.

He was charged with high range drink driving and will appear in Warwick Magistrates Court in mid-September.

—Just before midnight on Saturday, a 28-year-old Crestmead man was intercepted by police on Guy St.

The man was breath tested and allegedly returned a reading of 0.096 BAC, and will face the magistrate in Warwick in mid-September.

Car crashes

On Wednesday morning, a two-vehicle traffic crash occurred at the Eight Mile intersection north of Warwick.

A Nissan station wagon was travelling towards Allora, which then allegedly turned across the path of an Ford ute towing a camper trailer. The impact caused the Ford to overturn.

The driver of the Nissan was taken to Warwick Hospital by QAS and the occupants of the ute were assessed by QAS for minor injuries.

The driver of the Nissan was issued an infringement notice for failing to give way at an intersection.

Disturbances

Early morning on Sunday, Warwick police attended a licenced premise on Wood St following reports of two people causing a disturbance.

A 36-year-old woman was asked to leave the venue, but allegedly returned and attempted to re-enter after being refused by security.

She was slapped with an infringement notice.

Following this, a 33-year-old Warwick man was allegedly involved with a disturbance, and received a public nuisance infringement notice.

Stalking

On Thursday afternoon, a young Warwick woman reported being followed and harassed by an unknown man while running along Victoria St.

The man followed the woman in his car, before getting out of the vehicle, then “chased” the young woman through a clearing off Victoria St, while “videoing and calling out to her” while in pursuit from behind.

On Friday, Warwick police confirmed the matter had been reported to police, and was currently being investigated.

The local community also made their stance clear, offering support and interest in the matter and to the woman who was targeted.
