HELLO, my name is Michael Nolan and I'm the new reporter at the Warwick Daily News.

I was born in Warwick and left when I was in high school back in 1999.

Since then I've moved around the country, living in Brisbane, Melbourne, St George, Cunnamulla and, most recently, Kingaroy.

I grew up with my parents reading the Warwick Daily News as we sat around the breakfast table and every trip to my grandmother's house involved trawling through old editions of paper that she collected in the preceding weeks and months.

So I was overjoyed when I landed I gig at the Daily News.

I am really looking forward to reconnecting with my mates from school and my extended family, many of who still live at Gladfield.

I've worked in newspapers for the better part of six years and I'm keen to get my head around some of the issues facing the Southern Downs.

So if you see me out and about, say g'day.

I'm the bloke with the long hair, driving the technicoloured van.
