Emergency services respond to truck fire on Cunningham Highway, west of Warwick

Fire has taken hold in the under carriage of a semi trailer but the driver was able to decouple his prime mover before it was damaged.

The Cunningham Highway west of Warwick is closed to traffic after fire sparked in the wheel arch of a semi trailer.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Wheatvale about 7am and arrived to find the truck driver had decoupled the prime move before the fire spread.

He remained on scene to help the authorities fight the fire.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the fire did not spread to the trailer’s load.

No one was injured.

Police have closed the highway to make the clean up area safe.
