These are the young guns across Warwick and the wider Southern Downs set to lead their cohorts through a massive year in 2022. Meet all the region’s new young leaders here:

Dozens of Warwick students have been elected as school leaders for 2022 and are ready to lead their cohorts through another massive year.
These young superstars have been hand-picked by their peers and teachers for outstanding leadership qualities, and they’re sure to bring big ideas to the table.
Meet the Little Leaders of 2022 here:
Assumption College Warwick
The Assumption College leadership team shared their goals and aspirations for 2022:
Juliana Cruda
“As faith and social justice leader for 2022, I aim to encourage students to pursue their goals and aspirations, as well as taking the time to attend to those vulnerable and less fortunate citizens in our community.”
Rachael Jordan
“Creativity prospers within the arts whether that be through music, dance or artwork.
“As cultural leader of Assumption College, I am aiming to inspire my fellow students to participate within arts and culture, as well as providing them with new and exciting creative outlets and opportunities.”
Thomas Doherty
“Being named college leader for sport at Assumption is an honour. It allows me to make a positive impact on the college, and give back to the school that has helped make me the person I am today.
“As the college sports leader, I hope to help create excellent opportunities for us all to come together as a proud ACW community.”
Taylah Eastwell
“As academic leader for 2022, I aim to promote an encouraging environment where everyone is able to give everything their best effort and pursue all of their goals.
Warwick State High School
Year 12 students Dakota Newton, Alister Harris, Xavia Oloman, and Mark Skinner will lead the 2022 Warwick High cohort.
The leadership will be formally inducted at a badge ceremony early next year.
Warwick Christian College
The Warwick Christian College school captain for 2022 is Hannah Grava, who will also take on the role of Coats house captain.
Bianca Maloney and Emily Kay will act as both school prefects and the Lyndon and Russell house captains respectively, with Connor Brodie to round out the prefects team.
Warwick Christian College has also elected a top-notch group of little leaders for its primary school, headed up by captains Annabelle Wright and Ashyah Gorrie.
Bella McErvale and Chloe Vaughan will be the primary vice captains for 2022.
Warwick Central State School
Year 6 students Mark Masculino, William Buchan, Roma Antonio, and Swetha Chandran will team up to represent their peers at Warwick Central State School in 2022.
Warwick West State School
Warwick West State School has a strong team of Year 6 little leaders set to represent the primary school in 2022.
Amelia Kuhn and Mason Davey have been elected as school captains, with Molly Grant and Liam Wren chosen as school vice captains.
Leaders on the sports field will be Cordeaux house captains Finn Campbell and Sophia Schramm, Mitchell house captains Ella Rhodes and Carter Goodwin, and Sturt house captains Mya Farrell and Jackson Dwan.
St Mary’s Primary School
St Mary’s Primary School in Warwick opted to put forward their entire 2022 Year 6 cohort as next year’s school leaders, with a school spokeswoman saying all students deserved the privileges and responsibilities that come with the role.
“Next year as we move into our brand new and renovated school buildings, we will also revitalise our leadership program to include student portfolios,” she said.
“These will focus on stewardship, school spirit, welcome, and charity. Our Year 6 leaders will also lead our student council, assemblies, and liturgies.”
St Mary’s did not provide students’ names.
Killarney P-10 State School
Killarney P-10 State School captains shared their hopes for 2022:
Mac Lehman
“I am looking forward to the responsibility that comes with being school captain, including being a positive role model and helping others cross our whole school.
“I wanted to represent our school because of its great location in Killarney, near our family farm, and I also agree with the values held at our school.”
Toby Paterson
“In my leadership election speech, I told my fellow students that I look forward to introducing some new activities and initiatives, especially in sporting activities across our school.
“I am honour to represent a school that I have been at for a long time, and take pride in being a leader in this community.”
Acting principal Traecy Bartz said Mac and Toby were both worthy recipients and she looked forward to seeing how they worked in the role.
“We are very proud of them. Our school sporting house leaders are announced at the beginning of 2022 and students are eager to gain a position,” she said.
Murray’s Bridge State School
Little leaders Alyssa Blanch and Hunter Scarsbrook will represent Murray’s Bridge State School in 2022.
St Joseph’s Stanthorpe
St Joseph’s Stanthorpe has elected a large leadership team for 2022, with nine students chosen to represent the school.
School captains Isabel Kay and Kira St John will be joined by vice captains Lucas Wren, Kaelie Doyle and Ashley O’Brien.
Prefect roles will be filled by Natasha Brierley, Cydney McErvale, Kirra Daddow, and Caitlin Ellis.
Stanthorpe State High School
Stanthorpe State High School has elected Kyle McCarthy, Alyssa Garsparin, Lauren Coelli, and Dylan Gow as school captains for 2022.
Stanthorpe State School
Stanthorpe State School has elected a strong Year 6 group to lead the primary school through 2022.
School captains Riley, Isabella, Madeline, and Cooper will be joined by house captains Beau, Lydia, Tayla, Lucy, Stephanie, Liam, Oliver, and Dean.
Dalveen State School
Young guns Mackyla Mitchell and Mia Walters have been chosen as Dalveen State School’s leaders for 2022.
Thulimbah State School
Kiara Harvey will lead her small and tight-knit cohort at Thulimbah State School for 2022.
Wallangarra State School
Wallangarra State School Year 6 students Mikayla Harding and Indianna Harding have been chosen as school captains and Ruby Kirk as indigenous leader for 2022.
The trio shared this quote: “We are very proud of our school and are very proud to be elected to this important position, and we will strive to promote our school to the best of our ability.”
