It’s alleged the injured teen was a passenger in a stolen black Hyundai I30 when it was travelling north on Beckett Rd at Bridgeman Downs and crashed at the intersection with Albany Creek Rd just before 8pm Saturday.

One witness said the 15-year-old passenger “flew out of the car when the crash happened and skid across the road”.

He was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital with a head injury and was later described as being in a stable condition.

Several people claim to have seen the Hyundai, which police allege was stolen on Monday from Lawnton, speeding before the accident.

One woman claims she saw the “car speeding past me on Beckett Rd just after Hamilton Road intersection (heading north) at est. no less than 200kph. They were out of control!”.

Another witness said it was “a miracle” the boy wasn’t more seriously hurt “considering the speed and damage of the car”.

The passenger side of the vehicle was crumpled in following the crash and the front of the car smashed in.

Those who were among the first to arrive at the scene described it as “frightening”, “upsetting” and “confronting”.

“Hubby, daughter, and I seen this and it was quite a mess very upsetting scene,” one woman said.

It is alleged the Hyundai was stolen from Todds Rd, Lawnton between 9pm on Sunday, June 30 and 2.30am on Monday, July 1.
