Disturbing footage has emerged of a fight breaking out between three male students at a Cairns high school, with three teachers shoved as they attempted to break up the brawl.
Just days after a student at a remote school in Far North Queensland sustained severe injuries in a violent altercation on the school grounds, a video uploaded to TikTok by a student on Wednesday showed a wild fight at Trinity Bay State High School.
In the footage one student can be seen pushing past a teacher wearing a high-vis jacket before starting to punch a second student.
The teacher then struggled to separate the boys, but a second teacher quickly intervened to help break up the fight.
The second student involved in the fight was then pushed onto the ground by a third student before a third teacher was forced to step in.
He was then shoved by one of the boys and a trash can was knocked over.
Both students appeared to be yelling at each other as they walked on opposite sides of the teacher.
At least 20 students were recorded watching the fight unfold as it took place.
A Queensland Department of Education spokesman said the incident is being investigated and extensive support is available for students.
“The students directly involved have already faced disciplinary action and consequences will
apply to others involved in filming and distributing the video online,” he said.
“The school has extensive support measures in place to assist students and families and
encourages anyone with concerns to contact the school leadership team.”
