Travis Fimmel spotted in Maleny, filming Stan’s Black Snow on Sunshine Coast

An A-list Hollywood actor, known for his roles in Vikings and Boy Swallows Universe, was spotted having multiple meals in the Sunshine Coast hinterland as he continues filming for a popular streaming show.

An A-list Hollywood actor, known for his roles in Vikings and Boy Swallows Universe, was spotted having multiple meals in the Sunshine Coast hinterland as he continues filming for a popular streaming show.

Australian actor Travis Fimmel was spotted having lunch at the Maleny Hotel on Monday, after filming for a new season of Black Snow shut down multiple streets on the Sunshine Coast.

A staff member confirmed he had dropped in for a bite to eat.

“He was in for dinner,” they said.

“He’d been in a few times over the last few weeks while he was filming in the Glass House Mountains.

“Apparently he got a Maleny Hotel t-shirt too. He said he loves Maleny and will be back.”

Fimmel was also spotted at popular eatery Monica’s Cafe and Dining ordering an egg bacon roll for breakfast.

Mr Fimmel was previously spotted at Rosella’s bar in Burleigh Heads last week.

His return to South East Queensland marks his first project in the area since his 2022 role in the Netflix adaptation of Trent Dalton’s best-selling novel Boy Swallows Universe.

Black Snow started filming its second season earlier this month across the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

Filming took place on April 29 in the Glass House Mountains.

According to a letter from the location shoot managers, which was circulated to locals, the crew arrived at 8.30am to set up for filming.

Filming also took place throughout the day on the corner of Johnston Rd and Rapkins Rd with traffic control in place, Moffat Rd and Anderson Rd before wrapping about 3.30pm.

Sunshine Coast residents were excited to learn the movie star was in the area.

“That’s why Travis Fimmel had lunch in Maleny,” Hannah Bruzova said online.

“Travis Fimmel was this close to my house and I’m only just finding out about it,” Emily Green said.

“Drove past them too, they were also on-top (sic) of Wild Horse Mountain,” Kelsy Emily said.

“I would have been out there stalking … love you Travis,” Catherine Jane Oneill said.

“How awesome,” Shara Louise Eley said.
