LEADING builders were inundated with enquiries as crowds flocked for the bumper opening of Pelican Waters newest display village in Sydney Avenue.

More than 750 people attended the gala family fun day on Saturday, July 8, complete with jumping castle, face painting, petting zoo, sausage sizzle, games and great giveaways.

Along with the local community, visitors to the family fun day ventured from Noosa to the north and Gold Coast to the south.

General manager of development for Pelican Waters, Hamish Pressland, said the event showcased why Pelican Waters was a magic place to live.

"The atmosphere was terrific, it was a great family day and an excellent way for people to get a feel for the community whilst drawing inspiration from some of Queensland's premier builders,'' Mr Pressland said.

"The builders were fielding huge levels of enquiry from people looking to kick-start their journey into building their own home, with everything they needed to make an education decision in one handy location.

"With our new waterfront and waterview land release The Quays generating strong interest and sales, people are becoming really engaged with what our award winning builders can do for them,'' he said.

The boutique village features the latest cutting edge designs from HIA award winners Planet Homes and GJ Gardner, new Caloundra franchise Hotondo, Platinum Residential, Greenearth Homes and Look Homes.

One lucky visitor to the display village took home a new Ipad for participating in the family fun day photo competition which encouraged people to take photos inside the new display homes and post why Pelican Waters is such a magic place to live.

The entries led to hundreds of posts from every age group who attended.

The winner of the facebook competition received an Ipad and the runners up received vouchers from the Pelican Waters Tavern and Pelican Waters Golf Club.

The Pelican Waters Display Village is open daily and the Land Sales Centre is open daily from 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm on weekends.
