Bailey Burrows (Coorparoo)

Burrow has consistently been one of the squad’s best trainers from day one.

His professionalism, application and attitude towards his preparation, as well as having to lead a squad of 30, has been exemplary, according to coach Sam Wiltshire.

“It is no surprise that Bailey has been regularly in the best on Saturdays for the Kings,’’ he said.

Burrows is the type of midfield leader who is the first and last to leave the training track and is always working on his craft. He drives the young group to work hard during sessions which can be challenging for schoolboys.

Darcy Jones (Coorparoo)

A defender who displays maturity beyond his years, Jones works incredibly hard on his game and makes teammates better. He reads and understands the game so well and has so much knowledge to share with the group.

Jones is the first to acknowledge when standards have dropped and works harder than most to lift the training session.

He has shown strong leadership qualities for a young player and is starting to express this on the group.

Byron Rigby (Redland-Victoria Point)

Rigby’s hard work and discipline at training is a wonderful example to the group. The ace midfielder is a tremendous trainer.

Ethan Shalhoub (Redland-Victoria Point)

As captain and midfielder, Shalhoub’s middle name must be reliable. He is always leading by example on the training paddock.

Bailey Jennings, Connor Freiberg, Fin Booker and Harry Egan (Morningside)

This awesome foursome have all had big off seasons and, as a result, have taken their game to the next level.

Jennings and Booker have cemented their spots as wingers in the team as second year colts, while Freiberg and Egan have taken huge steps to become staples in the reigning premier’s side after ageing out of U15s.

Special mentions also to Dan Keane. A 2024 U15 player, he suffered a bad injury in the pre-season but has recovered quickly due to diligent rehabilitation work.

Oscar Collins, Jack Clutton and Tyler Lauritsen were other eye-catching trainers who helped out the squad every session, despite making up the rehab group.

The versatile Waters is one of his team’s best players, and is it no secret why given he trains with game intensity.

Beau Smith (Noosa)

A talented player at half back, Smith is one of the Tigers co-captains who is always the first to training sessions. He rarely misses a session and leads from the front with authority and confidence.

Jack Issell (Broadbeach)

His squad’s most consistent trainer, Issell’s work rate and attention to detail were highlights, as was his willingness to do the extra yard.

Charlie Hobbs (Surfers Paradise)

His efforts and presence on the training park have had a flow-on effect for the rest of the group.

Owen Maguire (Mt Gravatt)

A midfielder, Maguire really sets the tone for the group at training and also in games

Sherwood coach Damien Haber said it was too difficult to single out one or two players as the best trainers.

“It is always difficult to single out performers and particularly at training with this wonderful group of young men,’’ he said.

“Their mental maturity far exceeds their years in age and their commitment and buy-in to the process both on game day and at training has been a group thing.

“The group have set themselves high standards from the outset and continue to inspire and out perform. There is no ceiling to their potential and are enjoying the learning journey.’’
