QAFL SENIOR’S BEST DEBUT PLAYERS
QAFL COLTS’ MOST VERTSAILE PLAYERS
Noosa consolidated its position at the top of the table with a rousing 12-13 to 4-1 home win against Broadbeach, with Riley Mackay finding four majors;
Aspley beat Redland Victoria Point 16-10-106 to three majors, with Hamish McPherson kicking six goals.
Riley Stevens (Labrador)
Money can’t buy what Stevens brings to the table. He is a footballer who embodies the Labrador team spirit as he never takes a backward step, including leading the way in battles for contested possessions. He has been playing colts for three seasons.
Jensen Bromwich and Stuart Annand (Redland-Victoria Point)
A vocal leader, Bromwich always has an encouraging word for teammates - no matter what the scoreboard is reading. He also leads by example as a gutsy defender
The big man of the side, ruckman Annand has a positive aura, and his upbeat attitude sets the tone for the Sharks.
Harry Armstrong (Coorparoo)
A tremendous cross code talent from Ireland, the former Tigers Mal Meninga league player and St Laurence’s College First XV rugby winger brings a fresh surge of energy and excitement to the group.
Armstrong’s diverse sporting background makes him a dynamic and promising talent on the field, but it’s his leadership and character off the field that truly set him apart.
He’s been instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive culture - something that’s deeply valued across all levels of the Coorparoo Kings - from the colts to the wider club community.
Alex Demopoulos (Coorparoo)
A splendid utility player, Demopoulos oozes leadership.
He only arrived at the Kings in late February, but immediately lifted the standards and spirit among the group. He drives the culture and expectations of the team and sets the example with how he plays and trains.
Jack Kossaris (Coorparoo)
A defender, Kossaris has come through the juniors at Coorparoo and has an understanding of club. He is vocal and gets around the group at training and on game day.
Kossaris has helped bring together a new and unfamiliar group and helped create a strong united, connected group in only a matter of months.
Jeremy Crooks (Aspley)
Crooks brings the energy within the group. He can do inspiring acts on the ground that will lift the side, and at training he is always in high spirits and tries to bring the standards up.
Jett Atkins (Aspley)
Atkins is always one of the first to get up and celebrate players who have done team lifting actions on the ground. Originally a Sandgate Hawk when he was knee high to the post padding, Atkins will also do grunt work when asked to do so.
At times a hothead, he is continually trying to cerb that part of his game.
Milo Presland (Aspley)
The Hornets skipper who leads from the front, Presland is one to take matters into his own hands. Has a great understanding of Aspley’s game plan and uses that knowledge to help other players through situations.
Mitch Willis and Jack Hille (Morningside).
Both U17 eligible boys playing forward, Willis drags the other 21 blokes along with him, no matter how he’s playing.
Hille also provides a spark as a small forward which every team would love to have on their side.
Beau Smith (Noosa)
The Tigers co-captain, Smith is a standout figure at the club, leading with his voice and his actions on and off the field. As an individual he is also a talented player at half back, and is the full package as a co-captain.
Noah Rodoreda (Maroochydore)
A person with a great willingness to learn, Rodoerda works for the team and off the back of that, he grows his game as much as possible.
He is always working on his one per cent plays which is evident come game day.
Austin Segon (Wilston Grange)
A powerful voice among the group, Segon is driven by wanting to get the best out of his teammates. He is a terrific player to have around the group.
Jarvis Czechowski (Sherwood)
A great bloke who has been the lively one around the group, J1 - which he is affectionately known as - had a setback this season playing school sport when he broke his leg.
But despite this, he remains the culture carrier for the team.
As a member of the fines committee and source of many great tales, the boys found it in themselves to pay him back recently in a small way when each of the player purchased and signed a get-well card with their own personal message.
This deed of good will was led by another great team man, Jarvis Warr.
Finn Booth (Palm Beach)
A boy from just over the border, Booth may not rack up the most disposals, but he leads the way in one-percenters. His effort and work ethic is a class above, and go hand-in-hand with him being a reliable impact player.
Owen Maguire (Mt Gravatt)
A terrific mid field footy player, Maguire sets the tone at training and during games.
Lincoln Edgar (Mt Gravatt)
The Vultures halfback ace, he loves footy and enjoys everything he does around the squad. And as a result that vibe is contagious.
Jeremiah Fahey (Broadbeach)
Fahey is a footballer who is always putting in the hard yards at training and on the field during the game. He is the ultimate coaches’ player who does everything he is asked of.
Brodie Cornish (Surfer Paradise)
The Surfers Paradise vice-captain upholds all the club values and gives his absolute all week in, week out.
Blake Gowing (Surfers Paradise)
A consistent contributor every game, he elevates his teammates and has an impressive work rate.
