Cool in a Crisis players

Morgan Whalley (Piper Mellifont)

From the Gorillas comes this “cool in a crisis’’ performer. An unflappable half back flanker or midfielder, Whalley remains calm under pressure.

She is calm when attacking the ball and uses her silky skills when coming out of defence. Whalley is slightly unheralded but more often than not she is among Wilston Grange’s best players.

Emily Henderson (Broadbeach)

Henderson is a solid and dependable defender who rarely gets beaten one-on-one. She reads the game well and regularly takes strong marks as a last line of defence when opposition teams are raiding.

Lexie Hodgkin (Southport)

Hodgkin is an unflappable type, a player who never appears worried or stressed. She knows her game, and the process of what she needs to do and she gets the job done. Hodgkin’s skills are excellent and she was elite below her knees for her size.

Courageous full back Starling, who reached her milestone 50th match recently in a victory over the Demons, is a born and bred Tweed Coast Tiger.

Coco Colefax and Olive O’Bryan were also “cool cucumbers’’ for the side.

“Coco’s natural defensive abilities makes her an essential element in the team,’’ said club coach Steve Foreman.

“Bonnie’s linkage and silky skills in the backs give us effective rebound every match.’’

Stevie Fisher (Wests Juniors)

Stevie Fisher is unflappable for Wests Juniors, whether she is playing in ruck or taking on the opposition key forwards. Fishers is regularly a player who her team can rely on in the key moments and she makes a habit of making the right choices.

Bronte Wilkinson (Broadbeach)

A tall forward, Wilkinson competes well and has strong hands. She works hard for the Cats and brings teammates into the game with neat foot skills.
