An original 1978 Sunshine Coast beachside home has been bulldozed with a “pinnacle” build under way that’s tipped to be a record breaker when it sells.

The original home at 48 Oceanic Drive, Warana and the stunning new build that will completed and sold in early 2022.

Construction has started on Residence One of 48 Oceanic Drive in Warana, which is the first home on the duplex block.

Agents Craig Arkell and Sonia Radich of All Properties Group sold the original home in 2016 at auction and are again in charge of the sale, which launched to the market on Thursday.

Mr Arkell said a Sunshine Coast man with an eye for property purchased the block earlier this year.

He demolished the home to make way for the stunning new project.

Construction has started on the new three-bedroom home which will be complete with ocean views at the front and mountain views at the back.

“The owner has secured several sites, he’s doing this and another one,” Mr Arkell said.

“This is going to be the pinnacle for the street, no stone is being left unturned.”

He said it would be a record-breaking sale and would set a standard for what people could achieve.

CoreLogic data showed the current owner purchased the block for $1,380,000 in April, 2021.

Mr Arkell said the property was being marketed for about $2 million and had generated plenty of interest.

“It’s gone crazy overnight, people inquiring from all over the place, Brisbane, overseas, interstate, a lot of people are asking about it,” he said.

“It’s very rare a product like this comes up.”

The home will come with stunning ocean views from the roof.

Mr Arkell said the original home was one of few homes along the beachside drive when it was built in 1978.

“The family would go running through the paddocks and over the dunes to the beach and play,” he said.

“Slowly the suburb evolved around it one house at a time.

“This is a rags to riches sale.”
