A jacked Sunshine Coast powerlifting coach has captured the moment he chased down an alleged trespasser and put him in a chokehold during a dramatic citizen’s arrest.
Tim Nickson, 27, of Meridan Plains, put his powerlifting muscles to the test last week when he took down a man he spotted at the front of his home.
The Maroochydore powerlifting coach moved to Meridan Plains with his wife seven months ago.
The powerlifter said he knew he had to take action when he saw the man allegedly looking through his home’s windows.
Mr and Mrs Nickson had just finished their usual bedtime routine of reading their bibles together and praying when he allegedly spotted the man outside their home.
Mr Nickson took off after the man, and managed to wrestle him to the ground and put him in a chokehold.
Police have charged a man following the alleged trespass incident on April 5.
“Around 10.30pm, Caloundra police attended a property in the vicinity of Creekwood Dr following reports of a disturbance,” a Queensland Police Service spokesman said in a statement.
“Upon arrival, police took a 28-year-old man into custody.
“He has been charged with one count of trespass and is expected to appear at Caloundra Magistrates Court on May 2.”
