Police are on the hunt for three people who may be able to assist with the investigation into the arson of a Tewantin home in March.

On March 29 at about 1.30am, emergency services were called to a fire at a Tewantin address.

The home, which is owned by the Queensland Housing Commission, was boarded up after the inside was ransacked and vandalised just days before the incident.

No one was inside the home at the time of the deliberately lit blaze and the structure was completely destroyed.

Three girls, aged 12, 13 and 14, allegedly tortured a 13-year-old girl over several hours at the property on March 11.

Earlier this month, media outlets were barred from attending court proceedings of the three teenage girls.

Further police investigations indicated an unknown group of people distributed offensive and harassing materials via mail in the Tewantin area in the lead-up to the arson of the house.

Police have revealed they believe there may be a link between the three incidents but do not allege the accused girls or the alleged victim, or their families, are involved in the fire or hate mail, nor are they accused of any wrongdoing.

Earlier this month, Sunshine Coast police revealed they were conducting a forensic investigation on the flyers that were dropped in letterboxes in the street and surrounding streets where the fire occurred.

Earlier this month, A Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy spokesperson confirmed the home would be demolished and the department would consider appropriate future uses.

As of April 11, the house had not been demolished but fencing had been placed around it.
