Man arrested as police investigate reckless driving along Maroochydore Road | Video

Terrifying footage showing a yellow ute being driven down the wrong side of a major Sunshine Coast road, as well as other dangerous manoeuvres, has been released by police.

Watch: Investigation under way after dangerous act caught on camera

Police have released video footage of a car driving dangerously along a major Sunshine Coast road believed to be shortly before the alleged driver was arrested and charged with drink driving.

The 24-year-old man allegedly blew 0.159 – more than three times the legal limit – after police found a yellow Ford Falcon ute at a Maroochydore Road service station at 4.30am on March 19.

He was charged with drink driving and will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 17.

Police said in a press release an investigation into the vehicle’s movements prior to being found at the service station was ongoing, but the car was believed to be linked to reports of dangerous driving along Maroochydore Road between 4am and 4.30am that same morning.

A video released by police shows a yellow car of a similar description driving on the wrong side of the road, between Blanck Street and Evans Street, before doing a U-turn in front of an oncoming vehicle and continuing down the wrong side of the road.

The car then turns towards a bus stop before it disappears from view as the camera pans away.

Police are urging any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
