A Pinbarren woman has been placed on parole for breaching her bail several times while awaiting trial over stabbing charges.

Isabelle Rose McKean was told by magistrate Rod Madsen last week all of her sentencing options had been “exhausted” following continual breaches of her conditional liberty following her arrest on September 19, 2023.

McKean was one of two people arrested following an alleged stabbing at Pomona, where police claimed the pair broke into a home and stabbed a 23-year-old man known to them before fleeing.

The 27-year-old, who has more than 12,000 followers on Instagram, was granted bail after her arrest with her charges of grievous bodily harm, wilful damage and enter dwelling and commit still before the District Court with no pleas entered.

Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard McKean racked up more breaches of her bail from April last year to as recent as January this year.

Police prosecutor Stephen Potter said McKean was given a new bail undertaking from Noosa Heads watch-house last year where she was granted permission to change her reporting conditions.

This included a residential curfew from 9pm to 5am.

Sergeant Potter said police went to her home twice and found she was not there on April 16 and June 28 last year.

The court heard of her third bail breach which stretched from January 7 to January 24 this year, which involved failing to report to Noosa Heads Police seven times.

She was spoken to by Gladstone Police on January 26 in relation to another manner and said she found it difficult to keep track of her reporting. She has since pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching bail.

Legal Aid solicitor Rachel Holland said McKean struggled with her housing situation at the time but now had stable accommodation.

Ms Holland asked for her not to be sent to jail but rather be placed on another suspended jail sentence as there had been no more bail breaches since January.

“I do not want her to go to prison,” Ms Holland said.

When asked about McKean’s indictable matters, Ms Holland said her legal team was still awaiting DNA results with the indictment being recently presented.

Mr Madsen accepted the Pinbarren woman grappled with her living arrangements but said she may end up going to jail because all of her other sentencing options had been used for breaching bail, as McKean was already on a suspended sentence.

He told her Ms Holland “wears her heart on her sleeve” and was trying to keep McKean out of jail.

The 27-year-old was jailed for two months but granted immediate parole.
