Harley Davidson rider seriously injured, search for second motorcyclist

One Harley rider is in hospital and police a searching for a second motorcyclist following a serious crash at the Sunshine Coast.

According to police, a black 2018 Harley Davidson FXBRS Breakout was travelling eastbound on Caloundra Road, near the Bruce Highway, when it crashed into a pole about 1.45am Saturday.

The rider, a 51-year-old Burpengary East man, sustained a serious injury to his foot and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Investigations indicate, prior to the crash, there was a second motorbike travelling north on the Bruce Highway with the Harley Davidson.

Police are appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam vision to contact police quoting the reference number QP2500445995.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Earlier in the night a woman was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after a separate two-vehicle crash on Broadmeadows Road in Maroochydore at about 9.30pm.
