Glen Michael Stair granted bail on child abuse material charges

A Nambour man who is alleged by police to have transmitted and possessed child abuse material has been granted bail after spending several months in custody.

A Nambour man who had his home raided by police for the alleged transmission and possession of child exploitation has been granted bail after spending eight months in custody.

Glen Michael Stair, 46, was charged in October 2021 after his Nambour home was raided by police in the hunt for electronic devices allegedly connected to child exploitation material.

Mr Stair had his bail denied in Maroochydore Magistrates Court and was remanded into custody after he handed himself into police on October 13, 2021.

Police allege on September 3, 2021 Mr Stair transmitted child abuse material on a carriage service and possessed child abuse material obtained from a carriage service on October 5, 2021 in Nambour.

It’s further alleged by police Mr Stair had child exploitation material on his HP laptop in Nambour on November 8, 2021.

In court on Friday June 24, 2022 Mr Stair’s charges were committed to the Maroochydore District Court where his bail was unopposed.

Mr Stair did not enter a plea while appearing by video-link and was granted bail.

The 46-year-old Nambour man faces offences of possessing child exploitation material, transmitting child abuse material and possessing child abuse material accessed of obtained using a carriage service.

He will have his matters next mentioned on August 26, 2022.
