A Kallangur couple have both been remanded in custody following an allegedly dangerous police pursuit on the Sunshine Coast.

Alli-Jane McKeown, 20, and Zak Christy John Trimble, 31, were arrested on Friday on the Bruce Hwy after police allege they took officers on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle.

Parts of the Bruce Hwy came to a standstill about 5.30pm after police received reports of a suspicious blue Ford Everest displaying false plates.

Upon arrival, officers allege the vehicle was driven dangerously before it was tracked by PolAir to a Bruce Hwy southbound exit at Coochin Creek.

Police allege the vehicle tried to evade officers before being damaged and coming to a stop.

Trimble, allegedly armed with a weapon, then entered an Audi A3 but was apprehended shortly after.

McKeown was taken into custody 200 metres down the highway. No injuries from bystanders were reported.

Police allege the blue Ford Everest was stolen from a Lawnton address on November 19 last year.

Trimble was charged with 17 offences including two counts of serious assault police whilst armed, and one count each of unlawful entry of vehicle, unlawful possession of weapon used to commit indictable offence, possess explosives, possess dangerous drugs, enter and commit, receive tainted property, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, drive disqualified, unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, and fix false plates.

She was also charged with two counts of failing to appear and 36 charges for unrelated matters which also included drugs and weapons offences.

Both were remanded in custody and appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday where both did not apply for bail.

Trimble appeared in court by video with two visible black eyes and had his matters adjourned to March 26.

Magistrate Rod Madsen recounted other allegations police raised against Trimble which took place across Queensland including at Jimboomba, Kallangur and in Central Queensland.

“It looks like ... the police in Emerald and Dutton Park ... it looks like you’re being watched very carefully by a lot of police in a few locations,” Mr Madsen said.

Meanwhile McKeown had her matters adjourned to the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on January 29, and did not appear from the watch-house. No pleas were entered.

Police were appealing to anyone with information or with CCTV or dashcam footage of the vehicle between 5-6pm on January 17 to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
