Coolum Beach alleged bakery robbery: Two teenage boys arrested by police
Two boys with alleged ties to southeast Queensland gangs have been arrested for an alleged Sunshine Coast armed robbery where bakery staff were threatened with hammers.

Two teenagers have been arrested over an allegedly violent armed robbery of a Coolum Beach business where workers were allegedly threatened with hammers.
Noosa and Hervey Bay Criminal Investigation Branch detectives arrested two boys, aged 16 and 17, on 10 charges each including robbery in company, burglary, unlawful use of a car, wilful damage and stealing.
Detective Sergeant Tim Byrnes said police allege those teenagers and two other offenders had driven to Coolum Beach on July 26, 2022 in a stolen car.
Sergeant Byrnes alleged about 2.40am the group were wielding hammers when they confronted workers at a Coolum Beach bakery on Focal Ave and stole a white Kia.
Police further allege the youths then burgled a Peregian Springs home and stole a Range Rover which was later found trashed.
The group had also dumped a vehicle allegedly stolen from Hervey Bay after the alleged robbery.
Gang tags reading “HBB” or “Hervey Bay Boys” with the Fraser Coast suburb’s postcode 4655 were found inside as well as “FTP” and “F**k the COPS”.
Detectives arrested one of the boys last week and another on Monday September 19, 2022.
The 17-year-old has been remanded into custody while the 16-year-old received bail, with both boys due to appear in Hervey Bay Children’s Court on September 30, 2022.
