A Gladstone cattle property worker has been spotted by two women pleasuring himself in his dad’s frontyard on the Sunshine Coast.
Two ladies spotted Cadman James Ronald Courtenay in a state of undress at a Maroochydore property with his shorts around his ankles about 12.30pm on December 21.
Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard the 32-year-old Cotton Tree man was looking directly at them while he was in a property’s front yard across the street from them, 20m away, caressing his penis with his right hand.
Police prosecutor James Allen said the women were chatting when they glanced across the street and saw him with his penis out “openly masturbating” in their direction.
Mr Allen said the women were shocked at the lewd sight, with one of them yelling out “oi” to let him know they could see him.
The court heard the Cotton Tree man pulled his pants back up and ran towards the house, with the women following him to confront him.
Courtenay’s father began to argue with the women outside his home when they were trying to complain to him about what his son had done.
A police report was made and Courtenay was interviewed and told officers he was urinating and not actually masturbating.
He pleaded guilty to wilful exposure in court on Monday.
Defence lawyer James Bakker said Courtenay worked at a cattle property near Gladstone but was also a carer for his father.
Mr Bakker said the 32-year-old also held a university degree and obtained a mental health care plan.
Magistrate Rod Madsen told Courtenay he was lucky police didn’t charge him with a more serious offence.
Courtenay was placed on a six-month good behaviour bond with no conviction recorded.
