A paraglider has been rushed to hospital after he crashed into a tree on the Sunshine Coast.
The incident in Balmoral Ridge is the second paragliding accident on the coast in less than seven days.
Emergency services were called to an area off Maleny Montville Rd about 10.30am on Thursday.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a male paraglider in his 50s flew into a tree then fell a distance of four meters to the ground from the tree.
He suffered back, chest, arm and hand injuries from both impacts but was “luckily” in a stable condition, the spokeswoman said.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said two crews arrived at the scene about 11am to help recover the paraglider after he fell another 20m down a steep embankment.
Crews managed to bring him up the embankment by 12.30pm.
A helicopter was called, but he was ultimately taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital by road.
This comes after two paragliders collided mid air and fell onto a cliffside at Noosa on Sunday, with one suffering life-threatening injuries.
