I WENT looking at blocks of land over the weekend, more window shopping than actually inquiring, and learned I’m making the step into property too difficult for myself.

I’ve been talking about buying a home for months, but I’ve been holding back.

Then this dreadful pandemic came about and set me back further.

On Saturday morning, myself and a mate, who is also keen to take the plunge, went looking at land.

We checked out Palmview, Harmony, Bli Bli and even went up to Peregian. But it appears we weren’t the only ones.

This week the Sunshine Coast Daily reported huge land sales in both Harmony and Forest Glen where entire stages sold in just a few days.

No doubt the $25,000 grant through the HomeBuilder scheme launched the feeding frenzy which is great for tradies.

I am yet to see my financier to work out my rough budget, but seeing the number of people looking to buy fills me hope in these uncertain times.

All of the buyers in these two estates were people already living on the Coast who saw the potential.

I was told the inquiries from interstate residents looking to escape from Sydney and Melbourne were high too.

That also fills me with confidence, so I really need to just jump off the fence and decide.

But talking about it is easier.
