Where's the funding for crucial projects on Coast?

I DESPAIR when I hear blow-in politicians say, "I know the Sunshine Coast well, I holiday here all the time”.
This was the sentiment expressed by Labor's Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk (Daily, March 11).
If she spent more time working on the Sunshine Coast, rather than just holidays, she would see firsthand the lack of infrastructure, public transport and congestion which is at an all-time high.
Rather than outline a positive plan for the region, the Premier took the opportunity in this paper to attack local LNP MPs.
No mention of funding to increase lanes on the Bruce Highway between Caloundra and Brisbane. No mention of solving congestion on Nicklin Way. No mention of funding for a convention centre.
In fact, no mention of any funding for any new infrastructure project whatsoever.
She did, however, bizarrely try to claim credit for the $1.8 billion Sunshine Coast University Hospital, delivered by the former LNP government. What a slap in the face to those thousands of community members who walked side by side to protest against Labor's years of delays.
In this state, Labor have been in government for 25 of the past 30 years. Queensland has the worst unemployment rate in Australia, taxes have increased, debt has exploded, and the Sunshine Coast continues to be neglected under Labor.
If Annastacia Palaszczuk doesn't make a commitment to aircondition our state schools, duplicate lanes on the Bruce Highway, fund the North Coast Rail Duplication, build the Mooloolah River Interchange and fix Caloundra Rd, it is clear her fly-in fly-out visit to the Sunshine Coast is nothing more than lip service.
The time for talking is over. It is clear that only a future LNP government in Queensland will build the infrastructure and deliver the services our region so desperately needs.
