Here's an idea all politicians should take on board

Wouldn't it be nice if all politicians could work together, for the good of the nation

I saw an email posted on Facebook the other day from one of our high-profile federal politicians ranting about what would happen if Labor got in.

It was pretty long and damn scary as I read through it.

If everyone read it and believed it, there is no way Labor would win this next election if everything in there was true.

It was like a plot for a disaster movie but one that would fail at the box office as no one in their right mind would want to pay hard-earned money to see our future unfold into a massive mess.

After I digested it, with a fair amount of difficulty and chest pain, I really had to marvel how the peanut who wrote it could not see the irony of what he was spewing out.

Now, before I go any further, I have no idea who I am voting for because I do not rate either mob.

The Government at the moment has a track record far worse than the off-field behaviour of the NRL peanut gallery and surely can't blame a large percentage of the population that want to get on the other team. I also think those that read the rant and are usual supporters of the conservatives would start to wonder "how stupid do you people think we are?”.

Pretty dammed stupid if we read it and didn't think "Hang on a minute: you lot have had your go and look at what you have come up with”.

The same, of course, could be said for the other lot.

When they had their last turn, they had about the same number of leadership changes and the same amount of chaos.

Hey, don't get me wrong. Both sides do manage to achieve some good results for the great unwashed and it is hard to miss that with all their backslapping.

But it is their behaviour that bothers me.

Now I said "turn” because that seems to be the political cycle.

So it looks like it's Labor's turn, even if the cycle both parties have been using has two badly buckled wheels and a very uncomfortable seat that no leader seems to be able to sit on for too long.

If you're reading this in the hope I have an answer, sorry. I haven't but nor has the bloke that wrote the doomsday essay about Labor.

I used this analogy earlier this week: Federal politicians - particularly in opposition, because that's where the current mob appear to be going - and their underlings are like the weather bureau that in most cases predicts the absolute worst result so they can't be accused of not telling you. They then feel like they have done their job, which in turn makes it safe.

Here is an idea, folks. Let's try something different.

Everyone has to pay a price for their mistakes and don't I know it.

What about going into opposition and doing something positive. Work with all parties and hopefully a lot of independents to get this country on track. Sure, oppose the bad ideas but embrace the good ones for the good of the nation.

Yes, I know. Welcome to the Emerald Forest.
