Open for inspection homes May 25-31

Check out this weekend's Sunshine Coast homes open for inspection.

In times gone by those nearing retirement strived to stay in the family home as long as possible but these days research indicates that many people in their 50s and 60s are choosing to move to smaller properties that are easier to manage and lock-up-and-leave.

This has certainly been reflected by interest in the Sage Landing development in Buderim which was launched by HMR Projects earlier this month, with an overwhelming response from those looking to downsize from larger properties in the immediate area and beyond.

Sage Landing real estate agent Lew Pottinger from Ray White Buderim said there was high demand for new, smaller homes that were manageable in regard to maintenance but didn't compromise on quality and generous entertainment areas.

"The level of interest has been very high and that's testament to what's on offer at Sage Landing. Buyers recognise there's been nothing like this in the Buderim market for at least twenty years and the benefits of downsizing earlier in life are certainly influencing the buying decision," said Mr Pottinger.

Sage Landing comprises of an initial release of 13 single-level and two-storey contemporary homes in a quiet, tree-lined cul-de-sac with lots ranging from 357sqm to 533sqm.
