A Sunshine Coast mum-of-six has paid tribute to her daughter, describing her as a “thoughtful, deeply intelligent” sister and aunty following her tragic death.
The body of Rosasharn Wachmer was found on Easter Sunday after she was reported missing by her family earlier that week.
Rosasharn’s mother Vanessa Cruz said the 25-year-old had died by suicide at one of the pair’s favourite spots, Gardners Falls in Maleny.
Ms Cruz said Rosasharn was a much-loved daughter, sister and aunty who had battled with mental health issues since she was 14.
The Nambour mother, who has worked in the community as a disability support worker, described Rosasharn as “thoughtful, deeply intelligent and astonishingly creative”.
“She found expression through art, sketching, painting and even tattooing her own designs onto her skin,” Ms Cruz said.
“A loving aunty, she held the title with such pride, our sweet and helpful gem.
“We will love always, beyond words, beyond time.”
In a letter to her daughter Ms Cruz wrote she hoped everyone would remember to be kind each other in the wake of her death.
“If only I could have shielded you from the cruel world, if only everyone would remember what really counts in this beautiful world,” Ms Cruz wrote.
“That loss, her absence from this world, is a grief we carry deep.”
Ms Cruz said she was overwhelmed by the kindness of the Sunshine Coast community and she thanked the first responders who took her concerns over Rosasharn’s disappearance seriously from the beginning.
A GoFundMe to help Ms Cruz as she navigates life following Rosasharn’s death with her two younger sons has been set up with a $35,000 target.
