A real estate agent charged with supplying drugs has hit a snag in her court proceedings after her matter was initially listed for sentencing.
Harper Mccaffrey-Randall’s matter was mentioned by defence lawyer Andrew Owens in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 25.
Ms Mccaffrey-Randall, 21 and from Minyama, is facing one charge of supplying dangerous drugs, namely cocaine, after a police investigation in October, 2024, targeting the production, sale, and use of dangerous drugs.
She was charged alongside her co-accused, Thomas Craig Hatch, 20 and from Beerwah, who faces 11 charges including three counts of drug trafficking involving cocaine, MDMA and cannabis.
Court documents previously viewed by this publication showed the pair had been living at the same home in Minyama at the time of the police operation.
Mr Owens told the court Ms McCaffrey-Randall’s charge was an indictable offence which should be heard in front of the district court.
He noted the agent who mentioned the matter previously had told the court her charge was “strictly indictable” and asked for a brief of evidence, but a magistrate listed the matter for sentencing in the magistrates court.
Ms McCaffrey-Randall’s charge has now been set for committal callover on May 12 to align with her co-accused’s matter, to eventually move to the higher court.
No pleas have been formally entered.
