Emergency crews rush to home fire in Merlot Crt in Buderim

Fire investigators are on scene after a fire gutted a home in a suburban Sunshine Coast street – with paramedics rushing one woman to hospital.

Fire investigators are on scene after a fire gutted a home in a suburban Sunshine Coast street – with paramedics rushing one woman to hospital

Firefighters were called to Merlot Crt, in Buderim, about 6.45pm Wednesday night, August 28.

At least four fire crews were called to the blaze.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said a single-storey dwelling, about 20m by 30m, was “well involved”.

He said, as at 7.15pm, there was no indication anyone was missing.

Paramedics and police were also on the scene.

It is understood that nearby residences were evacuated.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said firefighters had it under control by 7.20pm and fully extinguished by 7.45pm.

She said there was significant damage and fire investigators would be on the scene Thursday morning.

Paramedics rushed a stable woman who suffered smoke inhalation to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following the fire.

Investigations are ongoing.
