Ella-May Correa-O’Hanlon, 29, tragically died after paramedics, police and a passer-by tried desperately to save her life about 4.30pm on Sunday, February 27 near the Bruce Highway.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and helped conduct CPR alongside the pair but the 29-year-old tragically died from her injuries.

Ms Correa-O’Hanlon has been remembered by mates and the Tamborine community as a woman with a thirst for life and a love for her son.

Close mate Savannah Knutsen said everywhere Ms Correa-O’Hanlon went she “touched a life” and will be dearly missed by many as a wonderful friend.

“Ella was a wonderful mother, she had a wild soul and a kind heart,” Ms Knutsen said.

“I have the fondest memories with her throughout my childhood and she will be missed by Tamborine and wider community.”

Ally Latukefu said Ms Correa-O’Hanlon always managed to find the good parts in life.

“When she entered a room everyone knew she was there, she radiated fun and laughter,” Ms Latukefu said.

“She loved her son more than anything in this world and would have done anything for him.”

Police say the injuries were not considered to be flood-related however they believe she was caught during the floods due to parts of the Bruce Highway being closed.

Her white 1985 Ford Falcon Station Wagon was found in a nearby ditch alongside her pet dog Breezy who survived the crash.

Witnesses and those with dashcam footage of the vehicle driving on or near Frizzo Connection Road prior to and including the crash have been asked to come forward.
