The company that previously operated a long-standing Sunshine Coast wedding venue has entered voluntary administration after accumulating more than $300,000 in debt owed to the Australian Taxation Office.

The Noosaville-based company Seafarer Court Pty Ltd entered administration on Monday, according to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents.

Administrator at Vincent’s Nick Combis was appointed to the company, which is directed by Noosa businessman, John Desmond O’Connor.

ASIC documents state the company was first registered in August 2011.

According to business records the company was behind the popular wedding venue, The Rocks Functions, which sits overlooking the Maroochy River at Yandina.

The ASIC documents show the company, Seafarer Court, owes an estimated $370,000 to the Australian Taxation Office.

The company is not owed any money, according to the documents submitted to ASIC by Mr O’Connor, and the largest asset, a Nissan Patrol valued at $70,000, had recently been sold.

Mr O’Connor said a separate company, Maroochy River Functions Pty Ltd, which was established in June this year, now operates the Yandina wedding venue.

Mr O’Connor said all staff at the venue remained employed and there would be no change to the business operations.
