Sunshine Coast surf club lodges development application for expansion
A popular Sunshine Coast surf club has detailed its expansion plans with extensions to balconies, and upgrades to members areas and the gaming room on the way.

A Sunshine Coast surf club is riding a wave of success as it reveals plans for an expansion to its beachfront venue.
A transformation of Coolum Beach Surf Club is on the way with the club planning expansion to its lobby and reception, gaming room, members lounge and balcony.
They also plan to establish an outdoor smoking area off the gaming room.
The development would add more than 200 square metres to the surf club.
Planners Murray and Associates lodged a development application on behalf of the club with Sunshine Coast Council earlier this month for approval.
The extension to the balcony would also require parts of the existing roofing to be demolished to make way for new concrete roofing.
They said the nature and hours of the existing restaurant operation would not change.
“As such, the proposed development will not affect the amenity of the surrounding area with regard to noise considerations,” they said.
No changes to parking were proposed.
The application is in progress with the council and is code assessable and will not require public consultation.
