An award-winning businesswoman has sold her profitable business to pursue a new venture and chase a better work-life balance after pouring her life into the brand for four years.
Sunshine Coast entrepreneur Bronte Cresswell was the founder and director of boutique social media agency Dash of Milk, a brand she started from her kitchen table in 2018.
Ms Cresswell, 28, said she sold her Sixth Ave, Maroochydore business last month for an undisclosed amount to a Sunshine Coast social media agency, which will take on her brand, clients, staff and office space.
She said it was a hard call to make and was letting go of her brand while it was at its most profitable, with revenue rising 25 per cent this year compared to last year.
Despite this growth, she said it was time.
Ms Cresswell, who took out the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network young business woman of the year award earlier this year, said she sold it partly to create a better work-life balance.
“I want time to give myself some freedom,” she said.
Since starting her brand at 23, the entrepreneur said she had been working between 50 to 60 hours a week to run the start-up, team and a large portfolio of clients.
Ms Creswell said she wanted to step away from the brand to focus on a new passion, Dash Academy, a social media training academy that was formerly a small part of her brand at Dash of Milk.
“I am looking forward to giving this my full attention,” she said.
Now a separate entity from her former business, Ms Creswell said she would offer one-on-one coaching sessions with clients such as in-house marketers and business owners about how to manage social media.
