A Sunshine Coast family business has launched a major industrial development after lodging a development application to construct four new buildings at Corbould Park.
Construction and interior fit out firm North Sun could be set to use the Ron Parkinson Crescent facility, which has been proposed on behalf of Ben, Jack and Colin Williams.
The Williams family has been at the helm of the company for the past 25 years.
Ben Williams said he was unsure of whether or not North Sun would be moving into the proposed buildings.
“It’s just a development application at the moment so we’ll see how we do,” he said.
“We only just put it in so we haven’t had any feedback yet, so we’re just waiting to hear what comes back from the council.”
Mr Williams said a shortage of land led his family to choose Corbould Park.
“It’s tough to buy anything anywhere at the moment,” he said.
The 9744 sqm block of land is currently vacant and sits in the Caloundra Regional Business and Industry Park Structure Plan.
Consent for the application has been given from Economic Development Queensland in a letter dated June 8.
North Sun’s operations have been based in Claude Boyd Parade in Bells Creek for the past seven years.
The proposal includes four detached buildings which will provide for separation of the business functions, according to the application.
