World-first tech to make milk last 60 days

A Sunshine Coast manufacturer is in the final stages of finetuning world-first technology to keep milk fresher for longer.

Milk that stays fresh for 60 days will soon be a reality thanks to food-technology company Naturo.

The company has produced trial batches of the long-life, fresh milk at its manufacturing plant in Coolum and is on track to finalise accreditation to sell domestically by late February.

New fire technology detects blaze 10kms away in seconds

The Sunshine Coast may be less impacted by devastating fires in the future thanks to fire detection systems from Coast company Fireball International.

The Peregian company has already begun rolling out the potentially lifesaving systems globally.

Teens keep watch on debilitating disease

Chancellor State College Year 12 students Ella Berglas, Ioana Oprescu and Tahlia Harris with Sunshine Coast mayor Mark Jamieson and Chancellor State College teacher May Boisen.

At just 15, these schoolgirls gained international exposure with the creation of a smart watch for people with Parkinson's disease.

Ioana Oprescu and Tahlia Harris from Chancellor State College have gone on to win awards for their inventions.

The girls are now passing on their knowledge by hosting workshops on the Coast.

New Coast business scoots in to fill hole in the market

Sunshine Coast's only ride-share scooter hire business Oggy's Scooters rolls into town. Picture with their youngest member Ruby Ogg.

A family's philosophy to "do something about your problems or shut up" has led to an exciting new ride-share business on the Coast.

Oggy Electrical Scooters launched on January 2, with six hubs and 25 scooters from Mooloolaba to Maroochydore.
