A used car owner’s sight unseen purchase at an auction turned into a horror story after it arrived with layers of filth inside.
But for Nambour’s Chris Hauler the purchase meant work, a full seven-hour job to restore the beast back to its former beauty.
The director of Professional Car Detailing said the car had suffered “years and years of neglect and abuse”.
It certainly wasn’t an overnight job.

Mr Hauler said it took him and two others a full seven hours to completely rid the car of the gunk, then clean and detail it.
“Put it this way, the average, normal family might come in on a 3/10 scale, but occasionally you get a bad one that steps way out of the box,” Mr Hauler said.
“This one’s a 10. A one in every five years.”

Armed with a full suit of cleaning armour including masks and gloves, the trio braved the job in one full day’s work.
Mr Hauler said it was enough to make a normal person vomit.
“It was non-stop consistently cleaning, all three of us,” he said.
“Even just to rid it of all the rubbish filled up a 30L bucket.
“But we’ve managed a significant outcome.
“The owner was very happy.”
Mr Hauler said they had been recommended to the owner who came down from the Gold Coast to get the vehicle fixed.
