The search for missing Mooloolaba man Anthony Cameron has ended in tragedy after the 62-year-old’s body was found in forestry in Landsborough.

Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Chris Eaton said Mr Cameron was found on Wednesday morning.

Mr Cameron had last been seen leaving his home on Sunday night, which prompted a police appeal for information from the public.

Detective Senior Sergeant Eaton said the man’s death was not being treated suspicious and a report would be prepared for the coroner.

He said the man’s vehicle had been seen at a carpark near Ewen Maddock Dam along Steve Irwin Way at Landsborough on Tuesday night before police found his body in bushland.

Mr Cameron’s family has been notified.

It comes just days after a large-scale search involving multiple agencies also ended in tragic circumstances after the body of missing Noosaville man Mark Cannon was found on Sunday.

The 67-year-old had been missing since June 30.

Mr Cannon’s death was not being treated as suspicious.
