An alleged member of the Rebels bikie gang has been spotted speeding in his crew’s colours on the Sunshine Coast.

Nicholas William Pozzebon was spotted wearing the prohibited vest after he was pulled over by police on his motorcycle in the industrial suburb of Kunda Park on June 28 last year.

Police prosecutor Val Crossley told Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday how police alleged the Bells Bridge man was a “confirmed” member of the Rebels OMCG.

Senior Sergeant Crossley said Pozzebon was intercepted for speeding about 4pm on Old Maroochydore Rd when officers observed the prohibited vest.

The court heard this attire was adorned with Rebels MC insignia with patches stitched on containing words such as “Rebels forever”.

Pozzebon received an infringement notice for speeding however was later charged with wearing a prohibited item in a public place after body cam and dashcam footage was analysed by Taskforce Maxima, a specialised police unit targeting bikie gangs.

Officers spoke to Pozzebon on November 10 last year while he was in custody at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre in Brisbane on unrelated matters where he declined to be interviewed.

He appeared in person in court on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty.

Defence solicitor Eric Halden said the 27-year-old was the managing director of a heavy vehicle mechanic business named All Fixed Diesels on the Sunshine Coast and employed 16 people. He also opened a new branch in Gympie.

Mr Halden asked for a conviction not to be recorded for the young father where he claimed it may have an impact on Pozzebon’s future commercial interests.

The solicitor submitted wearing the vest was a “passive” act with there being nothing assertive about his behaviour.

Magistrate Chris Callaghan said Pozzebon probably would have known it was an offence to wear the vest however believed it was not the “most serious” offence on the court calendar.

The Bells Bridge man was fined $600 with no conviction recorded.
