A cardboard cutout of the man most likely to become Queensland’s next deputy premier will be all smiles during a Courier-Mail “debate” against government counterpart Cameron Dick.

Deputy Opposition Leader Jarrod Bleijie has steadfastly refused to accept an invitation to debate Mr Dick at The Courier-Mail’s deputy leaders’ debate on October 24.

And now Courier-Mail readers have officially picked their preferred stand-in standee for the pugnacious Mr Bleijie.

An overwhelming majority of 55 per cent of more than 1100 voters picked the cardboard cut-out option of Mr Bleijie baring his megawatt smile as he walked with the LNP’s famed “Right Priorities for Queensland” pamphlet clenched in one hand.

The option of Mr Bleijie looking stern with the pamphlet in his arms came second at 27 per cent of the vote.

The option of Mr Bleijie doing up his jacket — which was also Mr Dick’s preferred pick — came a withering third at just 18 per cent of the vote.

Mr Bleijie has previously said he won’t debate Mr Dick as he doesn’t “debate losers”.

“I have zero interest in giving Cameron Dick a platform for his own ego-driven ambitions to be the Leader of the Labor Party,” Mr Bleijie said.

Mr Dick also returned served, telling Mr Bleijie that if he has something to say, he should say it to his face.
