Stanthorpe’s cutest toddler of 2022: Winners and top 5 finalists revealed

The race for the title went down to the wire, but the final votes have been tallied and it’s time to reveal your winner! Meet your cutest 2022 toddler and the adorable little ones rounding out the top five here:

There were dozens of entrants in the close race to be named Stanthorpe’s cutest toddler of 2022, with the contest so fierce that it was impossible to split the two adorable little ones who tied for the winning spot.

Paige Rudd and Matilda Ashburn were voted by Border Post readers as the town’s winners out of more than 40 nominees.

Paige’s mum Katrina Rudd said she was shocked and proud to hear her two-year-old had clinched one of the top spots out of so many cheeky toddlers.

“She is farm-obsessed, she is a major daddy’s girl and loves going to the farm to check on the baby cows,” she said.

“She loves our dogs and loves her big brother (William) and sister (Sophie), she just idolises them and wants to do everything they’re doing.”

Able to see her little girl pursuing anything from hairdressing to veterinary work, Mrs Rudd said Paige was often the one the one bringing their family together after a long day of work and school.

“She sits every night at dinner and asks everyone, ‘What’s your favourite part?’ meaning, ‘What’s your favourite part of the day?’,” she said.

“It instigates conversation and encourages the kids to talk about their day.”

Proud mum of fellow winner Matilda, Sarah Ashburn said her three-year-old was similarly obsessed with hanging out with her older siblings and spending time outdoors.

“She’s bubbly and energetic, definitely your typical three-nager,” she said.

“I suppose she is super-generous, which may sound really weird for a three-year-old, but if she can see the other two want something then she’ll try to do it.

“She’ll happily hand over the last bite of her doughnut or cupcake if she can clearly see she’s going to make someone else happy by sharing what she has.”

Cuties Paige and Matilda may have claimed the title, but there were plenty of other toddlers who won hearts and votes across Stanthorpe.
