Authorities are still searching for the cause of a house fire in Stanthorpe that took fire crews several hours to extinguish.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on Ryan St at about 8.50am Sunday after reports of smoke rising from the roof of the property.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said crews used thermal imaging to determine the fire had started at the rear of the building, with the blaze contained to the one area by about 9.55am.
The scene was then cleared just over an hour later. No one was inside the house during the incident.
The spokeswoman said the cause of the fire was still under investigation, but it was not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
Investigators are still determining the full extent of damage to the property.
