New data reveals toughest areas in Australia to find a rental property

Almost a dozen rural properties around the Southern Downs region have hit the market at an eye-watering price.

These picturesque countryside gems are full of charm and it’s easy to see why they come with a hefty price tag.

The property value around the Southern Downs and Granite Belt has seen a significant increase in the four years from the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to data collected from Higher than Average Growth, the current median house price for a four-bedroom dwelling on the Southern Downs is $574,000, an increase of 8.67 per cent.

Warwick Daily News spoke with LJ Hooker Warwick sales executive Leanne Cameron in August 2023, whose average sales price of properties in Warwick at the time was $463,000.
